I forgot how insanely awesome having a reliable weekend off is. It’s strange. Most people experience a dependable 2 days off in a row after working 5 days. It’s just… damn I like sitting about. House is clean, I have no energy because of some disease or injury, but woot.

Time to wake up V and go to my mom’s house for “St Patrick’s day”

Holy crap

So today was my last day working for a fantastic company called Sun microsystems. I can say that now because I don’t work there anymore. I’d wanted to work at sun since the Ultrasparc processor was something rad I read about in “Compute!” back in the early 90s. So I’m understandably dissapointed that I don’t have a badge to get in the door anymore. Sun simply makes bad ass stuff, and if it’s not bad ass, and if it’s not -perfect-, it isn’t getting out the door. That’s an outstanding quality in a company, and I only know of one other company that does that really, and that’s who I’m going to work for now. Macintosh customers are a little on the uppity side sometimes, but they usually listen when you help them.

Speaking of Macintosh, I need a new one. Resale on a new mac is around 800 bucks. I can get 400-600 bucks out of this one but that still means a 400-200 dollar purchase. That’s a freaking bummer. I WOULD go for a top ended powerbook over a low end macbook, but seriously, the PPC architecture is on the dying end. I’d be a wise man to buy little endian.

OR, I could get a desktop, but do I want a macintosh desktop? Mmmmmmnnnn not really. The mac is a fantastic toy, but honestly, it’s hardly a productivity machine.

And Ariel! Good you got a job. I had to get the details from V but that sounds nice. I’ll get in touch with you sooner or later here. I feel like we’re all so damned busy. Bah! I hate being busy. Time to get a million dollars and retire.

HOLY SHIT speaking of that! I don’t have thousands to pay to the IRS this year! We actually get money -back- if you can believe it. V’s bills are going to eat our 8 dollar state return, but like 140 something for federal is pretty damned cool. Wootbottles.
